With inspirational and relatable lyrics that come from the heart, 15-year old Liv Hatfield is ready to show the world what she’s made of. Any music fan knows that the best music comes out of real-life experiences, and that is exactly where this effervescent artist draws her inspiration. With a powerful story, show-stopping talent, and God’s given gift for creating music, Liv Hatfield is beginning to win the hearts of listeners everywhere with her modern blend of pop and country.

 

Hailing from Sugar Grove, a small town in Illinois, and influenced by emotional hit makers like Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Stevie Nicks, and more, Liv found her passion for music at a young age and started performing at just 5 years old. But first, we need to back up and share her moving story that could have left her without the ability to speak. 

 

At 2 years old, Liv was having difficulty learning to talk and soon she began having seizures. After several trips to the hospital, a medical brain condition was discovered. "My parents were told that I had a 50% chance of ever being able to speak."  Thankfully, with medication, therapy and lots of prayer, the seizures stopped. She learned to speak and developed a love of singing. “My parents told me that I continuously ran around the house singing. They couldn’t quite make out what I was saying, but I was definitely singing and humming a tune.” This passion of hers continued as she took the stage at her preschool Christmas program to sing “Happy Birthday, Jesus.” She continued her love for music and started taking voice lessons at 9. 

 

Shortly after, she began learning to play multiple instruments including ukulele, guitar, and piano. Liv started playing at local open mic nights, where she met Illinois Country music native, Annie Vander. Annie and Liv hit it off and Annie asked Liv to open for her at a local gig. "Annie has been a great mentor towards me. She introduced me to her Nashville producer and her Nashville publicist. She is always giving me great advice and is co-writer on one of the songs on my upcoming EP.” This summer Liv, stepped into a headlining spot at the Sugar Grove Corn Boil in her hometown. 

 

Along with pursuing her dream to make it in music and be an inspiration for young fans, Liv juggles the everyday life of an ordinary teenager. She attends school, studies, plays competitive volleyball, loves to shop, learn new beauty tips, and values time with her friends and family. She has figured out a way to balance this busy schedule of hers. “It’s really about the support system that I have in place. I don’t think anyone can be successful alone. It comes down to the people that have my back that really help me at being successful in what I do.” Although she has a lot of supporters including her producer, sister, teachers, coaches, friends, and her four dogs (Finley, Edison, Ruby, and Lola), her parents are the reason she has gotten as far as she has. By putting her in lessons, booking gigs, and endlessly encouraging her, Liv’s parents do the most to help her cultivate her passion and achieve her goals. 

 

Liv enjoys stepping on stage, performing and showcasing her vocal prowess, while interacting with young fans. Her heart is warmed when little kids dance to her music and she sees the audience react positively to her empowering lyrics. “It’s always special when you can inspire someone, give someone hope, or brighten their day by letting them know they aren’t the only one going through a hard time.” Her story, along with her music, is inspiring. “I am always amazed at God’s love and how he turned a health issue into a singing career.” 

 

With aspirations of playing big stadium shows, Liv understands the work and dedication it takes and is ready to make that happen. With plans to move to Nashville after high school graduation to attend Belmont University, her focus will be to perform every chance she can get while maintaining her studies. Liv’s main goal will always stay the same – to make great music that people love listening to. Liv Hatfield is a star in the making and her music is the true embodiment of her heart on her sleeve.
